XDownloader exists to make saving public X (Twitter) videos effortless. We built this tool because every alternative we tried was filled with intrusive ads, fake buttons, watermarks, and re-encoded files. We wanted one input, one button, and the clean original file — so we built it ourselves.

Who we are

We're a small team of web developers and infrastructure engineers with over 8 years of combined experience building performant web applications. Our background spans:

We don't just build tools — we use them daily. XDownloader was born from our own need to save X content for reference, research, and offline viewing.

Our approach

Every decision at XDownloader is guided by three principles:

Privacy by design

We don't store the links you paste or the videos you download. Our server processes your request, returns the direct video URL, and forgets about it. There are no analytics cookies, no user tracking pixels, and no data sold to third parties. Period.

Performance first

XDownloader scores 100/100 on Google PageSpeed for both Performance and SEO. Our extraction backend runs on Cloudflare's edge network across 300+ cities worldwide, delivering results in under one second regardless of your location.

Honest limitations

We're transparent about what we can't do. XDownloader only works with public content. We cannot access private accounts, DMs, or age-restricted posts. We don't bypass any platform restrictions or paywalls.

How it works technically

When you submit a link, our Cloudflare Worker reads the post's public metadata and extracts the direct video URLs that X serves. No credentials are used, no accounts are logged in — we only access what's already publicly available via X's web interface. The video file is served directly from X's CDN to your browser through our proxy, with no re-encoding or modification.

This architecture ensures:

Original quality preservation (no re-encoding)
No watermarks added to your downloads
Fast delivery via Cloudflare's global CDN
Zero server-side storage of user data or video content
