How to download X (Twitter) videos on any device

X (formerly Twitter) doesn’t offer a built-in download button for videos, but every public post has a shareable link — and that’s all XDownloader needs. Here’s the full walkthrough.

Step 1: Copy the post link

In the X app or on the website, open the post with the video you want to save. Tap the share icon (the arrow on mobile, or the share button on web), then choose Copy link.

The link will look something like x.com/user/status/123456789 or twitter.com/user/status/123456789.

Step 2: Paste it into XDownloader

Step 3: Save the video

Tips for the best result

• Make sure the post is public. Private accounts and protected tweets aren’t supported.
• If a link doesn’t work, re-copy it from the share menu rather than typing it by hand.
• XDownloader returns the highest quality available — typically the same resolution the video was uploaded in.
• GIFs from X are saved as MP4 files (that’s how X stores them internally).
• Keep the original creator credited if you re-share anything.

What doesn’t work

• Videos from private or protected accounts
• Posts that have been deleted
• Age-restricted content
